The Patrol Division is tasked with the responsibility of responding to calls for service, as well as remaining pro-active and resolving problems utilizing community policing concepts. The 24-hour operation is structured into two 12-hour shifts that provide the town wide coverage for a community of approximately 4,000 citizens.
Continuing education is vital in the role of a police officer as changes occur rapidly and consistently. The Haughton Police Department strives to meet these changes as they occur by providing the very latest training to our officers by way of in-service training. The Haughton Police Officers are required by law to complete 20 hours annually of in-service training.
The Haughton Police Department has a Vacation Watch Program for the citizens of the Town of Haughton. When planning to be away from your home for any length of time, the police department will make frequent patrols by your residence and will check on your home during your time away.
